    Ian : Interesses
AlgemeenMusic, listening, "making" and discovering new great Artists and or music. Used to go Skiing, Chatting online, Internet in general. All sorts.
MuziekI have a wide and sometimes weird taste, but like more mainstream stuff as well. Here are some of my Faves: I spaced all this out nicely but MySpace has TOTALLY ignored this grrrrr Izzy Isgate, Very talented North East singer/songwriter. still unsigned but will be a star http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendID=100407236 http://www.izzyisgate.com/ Or get to her MySpace by clicking on her in my Friends. Relevant POS 1978 to today also unsigned (But shouldve been) Covered a wide variety of styles Throbbing Gristle, 1975 to 1981 Art/noise merchants and pioneers of electro, New LP due 1st April 2007!!! http://www.throbbing-gristle.com/ http://userpages.umbc.edu/~vijay/tg/tg.html http://www.brainwashed.com/tg/ Ivor Cutler Poet/songwriter/humourist Unique Possibly still the only person to have works commissioned by Radios 1, 2, 3 AND 4. Was mates with Paul McCartney and John Lennon and played the part of Buster Bloodvessel in the Magic Mystery Tour. He invented the name before Bad Manners did. They are great band too tho. http://www.ivorcutler.org Syd Barrett Founder Member of Pink Floyd and Psychadelic Genius. His work with Floyd and solo excellent. Also early Floyd after Syd left tho it was a bit patchy http://www.sydbarrett.it/ http://www.pink-floyd.org/barrett/ The Fall 1976 to Today. Totally unique. A wide range of sounds but all sound like the Fall. http://www.thefall.info/fallsite/ Gong Just check them out http://www.planetgong.co.uk/ SPK more experimental noise merchants. And Metal bashers. Legend has it the first album was a therapy project for mental health patients of main man and Psychiatric nurse Graeme. Released seminal classic Metal Dance with genuine metal bashing. Dead Kennedys US Punk Band early 80's Crass UK Anarchist Punk Band late 70's to mid 80's Eric Bogle Folk singer, gave up being a Glasgow accountant and moved to Australia Denniss Smalley modern electronic composer Lindisfarne, ok some recorded songs were good but Live (especially Xmas at Newcastle City Hall) were excellent Psychic TV, a Throbbing Gristle offshoot as were Chris and Cosey and Coil. Franz Ferdinand, Power Pop and not because guitarist and lead singer Alex is also a big Ivor Cutler fan. Evanescence, Arctic Monkeys, Deep Purple, Kaiser Chiefs, Bauhaus, Babes in Toyland, Hawkwind, Napalm Death, Hole, Nirvana, Rufus Wainwright, Nick Drake, Buzzcocks, The Clash The Jam, David Bowie (mainly up to Lodger), Pixies, Husker Du, Captain Beefheart and His Magic Band, LOTS LOTS more
FilmsLonely are the Brave. Lord of the Rings Trilogy, Star Wars (all of em) Matrix Trilogy.
TelevisieOMG yes I watch TV. I usually record everything I am interested in seeing then watch it on video. That way there is usually something worth watching lol. Though sometimes I may be a few weks behind depending on how busy Ive been. A few progs I like in no particular order: Doctor Who (new and old), Lost, Spooks, Eastenders (why? wish I knew Ive given up on all the other soaps), The Bill, Afterlife, Supernatural, Charmed, The other one on BBC1 with Bill Patterson, Dr Who (I know I said it before but I really like it), etc
BoekenRarely read books these days due to being vision impaired but my faves are fantasy books. Lord of the Rings Trilogy, Both Chronicles of Thomas Covenent (6 books), The Dragons of Pern series. Big fave is The Dispossessed buy Ursula Le guin. Isaac Asimov. Phillip K Dick Terry Pratchet etc
Heldenis a really great song. One of Bowies best its about Love against outstanding odds.

Info over mijzelf:
I am a 48 year old bloke living alone in Middlesbrough. I like to think I'm a fairly nice person. But no idea what other people think. I am registered disabled as I am visually impaired and I had to give up driving in December 2005. My sight varies a lot. On a good day I see quite well though never perfectly (even with Glasses) sometimes One person suggested I apply to be a soccer referee so when the crowd chant "Ref are you blind" I can reply "Yes". I have 2 children a Step daughter 27 who is married and has given me my first grandchild. And a son who is 12 he lives with his mother but I see him quite often. I think I have a good sense of humour (though some people would debate this). Though it can be quite silly at times and a bit wicked at others. I spent 6 months in Australia in 1981 just before Uni. Also in my younger days I performed in Amateur Pantomimes, and enjoyed creating what I creatively call "Music". I was unhindered by anything like technical ability or an even reasonable voice. But I enjoyed what I did even if not many others did. I still get the urge at times so be scared VERY scared lol. I like an extremely WIDE range of music and particularly love hearing something I like that Ive no heard before. I am trying to get out and see more gigs than I have done for a while, particularly like seeing new bands that are good. If you add me please also send a message saying why you are adding me. Thank You

well thankyou very much Ian, always appreciated. I think I saw you watching Seething Floors too just after us at the Homegrown Stage - I thought they were great.

We had an awesome time playing at the Town Hall - I saw my first ever gig there so it was a big big thing for us.

Thankyou for coming along and supporting us too that early in the day!
