Buffy Sainte-Marie, The Everybody Fields, Lead Belly, Josh Ritter, Loretta Lynn, Nick Drake, Emmylou Harris and any assistant principal who has been knighted. As well as Tall Boys, Train Tracks, Slow Motion Nights, loud music that makes you roll your windows down. Life and what I choose to keep out of mine.
By far, She's the finest bloom to show flower in the state of the bluegrass. With her lively laugh, stand-up voice and range of instruments Sasha Colette lights up the stage and becomes any listeners new favorite. It's just that easy to fall for Colette's original and versatile style of writing, performing and of course, the famed grin she carries makes her most welcoming.
Born loving the sounds of Billy Joe Shaver, the Truck Stop Juke Box and the lofty sounds of Neko Case, Colette draws from the blending of Traditional Folk, Country Blues, and the occasional Alternative feel and sweet talks it all down with a little bit of rich southern front porch melodies that, with no problem, make Sasha Colette a definite joy to the eye and ear. Her voice leaves honest and original in the dust with the easy yet on the edge of your seat tone that she uses to raise the bar of what it means to be a Female Folk/Americana Musician.
With the release of her latest project, Vegas For A Day, Colette has covered many regions by way of performing and promoting the new collection of fourteen Class A originals. The album has brought her to perform on bills with musicians such as the Charlottesville, Virginia based band The Hackensaw Boys, Country Blues Duet Paul Rishell and Annie Raines, Lost Highway recording artist Will Kimbrough, The Legendary Storyteller himself, Tom T. Hall as well as apperances with the multiple IBMA award winning bluegrass band, Don Rigsby and The Midnight Call.
Sasha Colette and her band have stormed stages all over the east coast and won over every audience they've entertained all with song, laughs and smiles.
You'll never know Kentucky's finest until you've heard Sasha Colette!
