CALLOUT FOR MANCHESTER WOMEN TO PARTICIPATE IN NEW PERFORMANCE, 17TH & 18TH APRIL CALLING ALL MANCHESTER WOMEN! YOUNG OR OLD/TALL OR SHORT/ATHLETIC OR CURVY! Hello, my name is Nic Green and I am an artist based in Glasgow. I am coming to Manchester to show the first part of an exciting new performance trilogy and I need the help of lots of women! The performance in short, is a celebration of the female form, and of what it means to be an individual, dynamic woman, and to feel empowered and allowed to be that, in a society where the emphasis is always on women becoming and looking like something/someone else. The performance acts as an uplifting and bold statement, a rally, and a protest. It is about women together, empowered in their own skins, celebrating the very nature of who they are and all their differences. It's also a really fun performance and about having a brilliant time, meeting new people and taking a risk! I'm looking for anything between 20 and 100 women to perform a large scale, high energy, naked ensemble choreography on the 17th and 18th of April. In the past we have had women from all backgrounds, of all ages, shapes, sizes and ability who have found it an incredibly uplifting and empowering experience, about re-claiming the notion of their bodies as women, in all their beauty and with all their differences. If you feel up for a challenge and want to try something different, meet new people, make a point or even just do some dancing for fun-come along! ALL ARE WELCOME! I understand it's a HUGE challenge to do a performance with no clothes on, and I know that the prospect of this will make a lot of people feel nervous however I can promise to approach this in the most sensitive way possible, and of course no one at any point needs to do anything they don't feel comfortable with. If you come to the first session (which we will do fully clothed!) and decide you don't want to come back that's absolutely fine, we will fully understand, but if you feel at all interested I would urge you to come along and see what you think and how you feel. Here are the dates-all rehearsals will be in Manchester. It's good if you can make them all, but if you can't and you really want to do it, let us know and I'm sure we can work something out! April -Wed 9th 6-9pm -Thurs 10th 6-9pm -Fri 11th 6-9pm -Mon 14th 6-9pm -Tues 15th 6-9 -Wed 16th 6-9 -Thursday 17th PERFORMANCE 6-10pm -Friday 18th PERFORMANCE 6-10pm That’s six rehearsals and two performances.
