Kaylen released his first, six cut E.P., "The Cities We Made" in Nov., 2007 just in time for a tour with American singer/songwriter, Willy Porter. They performed shows in Maine to Pennsylvania with stops in New York City, Philadelphia, and Boston. Kaylen recorded and performed on the 2006 CPR Holiday Train, and was awarded his first gold record for his contribution.
As a third generation performer, from both sides of the family, music runs deep in his blood. With both parents being Juno Award winners and inductees in the Canadian Country Music Hall of Fame, and both grandfathers in numerous Hall of Fames, this young artist has a strong musical lineage.
Kaylen’s creative side includes film editing and music production, as well as his song writing skills. All but one track on the E.P. are solo efforts with the other as a co-write with sister, Kelly Prescott and Uncle, Barry Brown.
He’s also done some backup vocals on recordings including many of the songs from Jeremy Fisher’s “Blue Monday” recording. A wide variety of musical influences in his life gave Kaylen the means to polish off his own poetic pieces with bits of hillbilly, heartbreak, love, youthful pondering and desires. Dubbed “the Monk” by Sarah Slean, Kaylen seeks learning and truth in life. At 24 years young, he seems to carry an old soul. Even as a child, in a house with an award winning recording studio, musicians and songwriters coming and going, Kaylen was an introspective watcher, soaking it all up for his own musical journey ahead.

YO BRO! I just watched the "Good Guys" video. It all looks great except for that extremely bitter girl singing harmonies beside you. Man, I guess sitting on the prickly grass and knowing I had to leave paradise in 20 minutes really made me look like quite the Gem haha!!! "Southern Sound" is really good....even though you stole my bass like a lil bitch to finish it... It rocks though, really! Anyways, just wanted to say hi and that I miss you...sort of. AND SEND THAT SONG TODAY!!!
