"The romantic and exotic tone of The Gypsy Chronicles is strictly fabulous. And the notion of charmed matrimonial beds? No reader could ask for more to spark so many levels of the imagination. Alison Mackie has created a mystical world, beautiful in its undertaking, that will lure even the most cynical souls to seek the mysterious ways of deep love and Gypsy magic"
One does not ask questions of a fairytale.
Alison Mackie's The Gypsy Chronicles
Upon each Matrimonial bed Tzigany de Torres makes,
he bestows a potent charm; one that guarantees a lifetime of loving passion within the marriage.
His wife Gitana is a matchmaker,
and together they are in the business of making love happen!
The Gypsy Chronicles is a bedtime story for grownups, and tonight my friends, the subject is LOVE!
Or should I say, quietly, the making of love.
"The Gypsy Chronicles makes your soul want to tap dance!"

"The Gypsy Chronicles, is a delightful tonic. Lighthearted and yet uplifting, this little gem of a book does much to soothe the spirit and assure us that life is divine indeed. "Imagination and reality conspire..." BALKAN BEAT IT URBAN GYPSY MAGAZINE 'Valentina'
The Gypsy Chronicles is a world where words and obscure rituals live side to side and the power of handcraft is enforced by superstition. Here, imagination and reality conspire to change the course of events and the art of fortune telling mingles with the capacity of creating one's own future.
Every page seems to have an appropriate soundtrack, as if to complete the sensory experience suggested by the words. The beautiful voice of Angicaro that can persuade a diamond thief to change his life style, the sound of a guitar entwined to the flamenco steps of a dancer, the “duende” and rhythm of the characters in their speaking and movements make a constant suggestion of the sounds that play along the plot.
"The Gypsy Chronicles is a treat for the imagination!!!"
DJRAMA Miami Najis Tuke Alison... I am falling in love with this story. The Gypsy Chronicles is a treat for the imagination! It truly captures the mystery of being a Gypsy in a real sort of way. Te aves baxtali pen!
"The Gypsy Chronicles works in an unorthodox way..."
Steven Siciliano, author of La Vedette Los Angeles Alison, I finished "The Gypsy Chronicles" while on vacation in Mexico. I enjoyed it very much as a novel creation/objet d'art. It works in an unorthodox way, which I'm sure pleases you! Gitana does a great job of capturing just how fun and sexy a place Spain is today; the modern overlaying the traditional in a truly successful juxtaposition one can't find anywhere else. It brought me back to my times there.
"An artfully arranged mosaic of colorful stories and memorable characters..."
Ana 'Dulique' Leskova
Arts Journalist; Czech Daily
The blurb on the cover stated that I would find stories full of love inside, which did not arouse much enthusiasm in me – indeed, it sounded to my ears like a dime store novel for women. However, when I began to read, what I found instead was an artfully arranged mosaic of colorful stories and memorable characters that takes place in the town of Ronda, Andalusia. The action centers around Gitana and her husband Tzigany whose workshop for matrimonial beds is where the individual stories meet.
I could not help but compare it with Amélie of Montmartre – There is throughout a great amount of stylization, playfulness and surprising twists in the plot which will bring a smile and giggle.
"Every character has a magic of its own."
Angel Moreno
Dallas Morning News
Telling a provocative story in such a humorous and innocent way is never an easy task. And speaking about Gypsies is never easy! But Alison Mackie has managed to perfectly illustrate the Gypsy soul with the most beautiful and passionate tales I have ever read.
Every character in her book has a magic of its own, the use of Spanish dichos is fascinating, and her portrayal of the “duende” phenomenal. I discovered that TGC is not only a novel about love, but also an invitation to imagine and explore a new way of living that is ruled by the freedom of the soul.
