I am in love with my wife, Julie, she is the most beautiful, exotic and sexiest woman I have ever known and love her with all my heart, body and soul. She is the reason I wake up every morning and she means the world to me and she is every breath I take.
I enjoy working on my website that has been on the Internet for over 11 years at BBW Friendly.
Love riding my Kawasaki Vulcan Classic 1500 cruiser motorcycle and being a member of LA VROC. Sunday, November 12, 2006 was the 23rd Annual Love Ride and we rode in from Glendale Harley-Davidson to Castaic Lake. The 24th Annual Love Ride is going to be on November 11, 2007 from Glendale Harley-Davidson to Pomona Fairgrounds, where the Los Angeles County Fair is each year. Also Jay Leno is always the Grand Marshall for this ride. There is close to 20,000 motorcycles that ride to raise money for various charities. November 11, 2007 at Glendale, CA on stage with Jay Leno, I proposed to Julie in front of thousands of motorcyclists and she said yes. It was the 24th Love Ride and Veteran's Day.
Saturday, February 14, 2009, Julie and I got married at the Riviera Hotel Chapel in Las Vegas, NV on Valentine's Day. That night we went to the Mirage and met Jay Leno in his dressing room before his show and he autographed the picture of us when I proposed to Julie at Love ride 24.
I love to cook and my favorite foods, in this order, are Japanese, Chinese, Italian, Mexican and American.
My dream since high school was to move and live in Japan. When I was in the Navy I visited Okinawa and Sasebo, Japan. I would love to go back and see more of Okinawa and Toyko and Kyoto and a few other small cites. One of these days I will get back there and Hawaii.
Music
I love listening to all kinds of music especially classic rock, classical music and DISCO. I do not like to listen to any country and most rap especially gangsta. My favorite groups are Journey plus the classic hard rock groups like Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, Pink Floyd, Grand Funk Railroad, ZZ Top, Robin Trower, Tower of Power, Blood Sweat & Tears, Santana, Cream, Eric Clapton, Earth, Wind & Fire, Chicago, Queen, Mountain, Eagles are just a small sample of the rock groups I like to listen too! I like to listen to music on the softer side like ABBA, Air Supply, John Denver, Barry Manilow, Bread, Barry White plus many more.
Movies
I love all types of movies except the horror movies made today, too much blood and gore. Favorite is The Last Samurai, Lord of the Rings Trilogy, all Star Wars, Bruce Lee and Jackie Chan movies.
Television
I love the original CSI and Law & Order plus Law & Order: SVU & Criminal Intent. I like Stargate: SG-1 & Atlantis and some shows on Sci Fi.
Books
My favorite authors are Tom Clancy and James Clavell. My favorite books are The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings, all of the Dune books plus Ancient Greece and Rome history books.
Heroes
On August 12, 2006 saw Craig Shoemaker at the Ontario Improv. I feel he is the funniest comedian I have ever seen or heard. I found that he has several websites and the one that impress me the most is the Laughter Heals. He believes like I do that laughter and positive thinking cures most everything. I wish I had seen or known about him before my stroke. Reason he is a hero to me because what happen to him when he was growing up and he was able to turn it around make it a positive influence on his life and willing to make others laugh because of it. I made the mistake of being in the front row and became part of the act with his machine gun bit and was the cowardly lion! ROFLMAO!!! Thanks Craig, Julie and I had a great time!

You may wonder why I am called the Miracle Man. September 14, 2001 I had a STROKE and was fully paralyzed on my right side. I was given medication that took away the paralysis. I left the hospital after 5 days. September 4, 2008 I had OPEN HEART SURGERY(Quadruple Bypass)at West Los Angeles V.A. I was in the hospital for 2 weeks. People say that it is a Miracle I am still around and I just say I am STUBBORN!!!
I was born in Waco, Texas in February 1953 and between that time and August 1969 lived between Fort Worth, Texas (4 years)and the Bay Area in Northern California (12 years). 1969 moved to the San Fernando Valley in Southern California until June 1975 when I joined the U.S. Navy and left the Navy in May 1983. After Boot Camp, I was assistant Company Commander at Recruit Training Center at Great Lakes, IL for six months. I then got orders for USS DULUTH (LPD-6) in San Diego. I met my future wife in January 1977 and went on WESTPAC from September 1977 to May 1978 and visited Hawaii, Okinawa, Subic Bay, Phillipines, Sasebo, Japan, Taiwan, Pusan, South Korea and Hong Kong. Got married in July 1978 and reenlisted in May 1979. Moved to Naples, Italy in July 1979 and lived there till May 1983 working for NATO, Allied Forces Southern Europe. Saw most of the Naples area, Pompeii, Herculaneum, Isle of Capri, Rome, Florence, Venice, Vienna & Salzburg, Austria, Munich, Germany and Geneva, Switzerland.
Got out of the Navy and went to work for my father who had an accounting business. He specialized in Income Taxes and I learned how to do the bookkeeping for the small businesses. In May 1990, we were there for our future daughter's birth and took her from the hospital the next day and we adopted her legally in February 1991.
September 14, 2001 I had stroke, fully paralayzed on my right side due to a blood clot on my left side but was given a drug that help me get full motion back and was in ICU for 2 days and regular room for 3 days getting vocational and occupational therapy. It changed my life forever and the way I saw things in my life. In May 2005 I separated from my wife and moved in with Julie and in July 2006 I started the paperwork for a divorce. In April 2006, I quit working for my father completely since he was no longer focusing on the work and doing some very strange things. My father passed on September 1, 2007 while in a nursing home after having a stroke. My mother is also in a nursing home after having a stroke in November 2006.
September 4, 2008 I had Open Heart Surgery (Quadruple ByPass Surgery). The angiogram done on September 2, 2008 showed I has 3 blocked arteries and they took four veins out of my left leg. I was told I was a walking time bomb and could have had a heart attack anytime. I was in ICU for 4 days and spent one week in rehabilitation. I was in the hospital for 3 weeks (August 29-September 18, 2008) and was getting at home occupational therapy.
The reason I call myself LAHorndog, first off I am from the Los Angeles area and second, I played the trumpet from 4th grade to my third year in college. The highlight of my trumpet playing was on January 1, 1970, I marched in the Rose Parade and in the Rose Bowl with the USC Marching Band when I was in the 11th grade! My favorite trumpet players were Doc Seversen of the Tonight Show, Maynard Ferguson, Cat Anderson (Duke Ellington), Bill Chase and his band Chase (4 trumpets), Don Ellis and his Orchestra (4 valve trumpet)and Al Hirt (Green Hornet Theme)
Pictures of my daughter of her growing up. She is now 19 years old and graduated from high school with honors. She is now attending a local community college.
Who I'd like to meet: I would love to meet all the past and present members of Journey. I first saw Journey in late 1975 or early 1976 at the Naval Training Center at Great Lakes, IL. Saw them again in San Diego, CA in 1977 as the opening act for Emerson, Lake and Palmer. This was before Steve Perry joined them and saw them again in June 2005 at the Irvine Meadows for their 30th Anniversay Tour. I met and talked to Steve Perry on a plane trip from San Francisco to Burbank Airport on July 1989 and he was very nice and autographed my ticket. I have always been a silent Journey fan for over 30 years.
You have totally shocked and surprised me when you asked me to marry you in front of all those bikers, celebrities and Jay Leno. You did good! :P Thank you so much for loving me the way that you do every single day. You are my heart, body and soul and I love you forever! Your the best!
