The origins of the band go back to the beginning of the nineties . The search of a personal style had always been the essential point of the band and it led to a very involving “shock heavy” style as they themselves describes it. The experiences in the recording studio had as a result the first demo tape “LISTERIA “ in ‘ 95: the five members of Listeria received at once positive consents from various music magazines in Italy and abroad. Moreover that, Listeria were invited by numerous radio stations, local televisions and fanzines as “special hosts” in music programs and their demo had good reviews. In April ‘97 the first contacts with different record studios of the bore of Metal blade, SPV, Noise are taken and the Noise records, together with the magazine Metal Hammer, organised a European competition called “OPENING BAND CONTEST “ in order to find a special guest band for the European tour of the bands “Iron Savior” and “Edguy” in Italy. Listeria decided to send their promo “ Listeria “ to the magazine Metal Hammer : the magazine is in fact the link between the Noise records and the bands.The final decision had to be taken by the record company. After approximately two weeks the five Listeria received an answer: Listeria had been chosen as special guest in the Italian concert by “Babilonia” in Biella of the German bands IRON SAVIOR (band of Kai Hansen, Piet Sielk and co) and EDGUY. The live activity of Listeria as special guest kept going on and as next the German punk rock band “B-Bang Cider” had Listeria as support. The band becomes more and more popular and in February’ 98 the independent label SLIVER MUSIC proposed to the five rockers to participate to the compilation “THE FRIDGE” with the song “Infernal Voice “, currently in distribution. As winners of the “ FILMORE CONTEST 97/98 “, a musical manifestation organised by the club Filmore in Cortemaggiore, near the town of Piacenza, Listeria had the chance to record their second demo tape “ Something Mind “ in November ‘ 98. This new demo tape is decisively much more direct and heavy, with trash-influenced songs like “ Swimming in the mud “ and “ Clown’ s face “, characterised by a rhythmic and sweet melody, as well as classic songs like “ Shadow “. Every song is strongly effected by the new personal style of the band, with arrangements and rhythmic variations typical of a great heavy metal band. Proud of the new material, Listeria began their “Something Mind Tour” and interviews, reviews and radio participations were a everyday business. In October ‘ 99, Listeria recorded their first video clip for the song “Swimming in the Mud”, directed by the famous Italian director Zad ( who previously collaborated with the Italian rap band “Articolo 31”).In the year 2000 satisfactions are not late to appear: another competition, another winning and a new release. The club “Fuori Orario” in Reggio Emilia rewarded the band by including their song “ Rock is my D.j. “ live in their compilation “ FUORI BASE 2000 “. In January 2001 the bassist Luca Simonini leaves the band for personal reasons. Listeria started to search for a new technically prepared person, who could share the love of the band for the “heaviest” rock . The new bass player was found in the same year in April in the person of Hanjo. After many years and concerts- music festivals from the north to the south of Italy , the band in 2003 record “Again”, self produced . “Again” is strongly influenced by the Hard Rock style of the 80ies. Many tour dates are in their calendar, thanks to the support of the Eaglebooking Live Promotion, and Listeria have the chance to play together with worldwide known bands like “Kim and The Cadillacs” - “Ten Years After” of Alvin Lee - MSG (Michael Schenker Group), Dokken, etc.......LISTERIA now have signed the deal with the label LION MUSIC for n. 3 album will be distributed to world-wide in the following countries:Switzerland ,United Kingdom, Ireland, Denmark, Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg , Italy ,Spain , Canada , Singapore , Japan ,USA , France, Sweden , Finland Greece, Taiwan , South Korea, Hungary , Czech Republic, Mexico , Germany, Thailand, Chile....
