About me: Hi!
My name is Ikke and I'm a 44 year old rock'n'roll, R'nB (the real shit, not the MTV crap), soul, funk, reggae dj from Helsinki. My dj name is Lord Fatty. I'm runnin a recordstore called FATTY SOUNDS IN Hakaniemi Helsinki. I'm startin a weekly wednesday club called THE BANZAI LOUNGE in a bar called NOLLA which means zero in finnish. Musically it will range from 50's-60's cocktaillounge jazzy sounds to soul, latino, funk, beat, some garagerock to contemporary good music and don't forget some stupid noveltyhits inbetween. I also started a monthly club called Casino in Nolla with my friend Dj John Wayne. We play 50's Las Vegas, Jungle Exotica, R'n'R, old R'n'B, Mambo, Surf, Jazzy and Groovy sounds etc. on the first friday of the month. BTW Club Pharaoh is makin a comeback on the 26th of December in Lepakkomies. The Club Pharaoh myspacesite doesn't work, because i've forgotten the e-mail address, that its attached to, so please contact me here for more info. Cheers

Soul Sides kicks the year off to good start with a visit from Nick Recordkicks, the head of the internationally known Record Kicks label. Nick organizes the top rare groove club in Milano called Boogaloo, which has had appearances from the cream of deep funk DJ's including Keb Darge, Ian Wright, Jazzman Gerald and Andy Smith.
The repertoire of our guest includes both 60's and 70's soul, funk, and boogaloo rarities, and the best examples of new releases by recent artists. Nick's dynamic selections can be heard on Radio Pelle Nera and Play. fm.
Operating since 2003 the Record Kicks label focuses on releasing properly licenced quality reissues of soul and funk rarities and also new recordings by the finest artists in organic dance music. The label has put out releases by Baby Charles, Kokolo Afrobeat Orchestra and The New Mastersounds. The popular Let's Boogaloo compilations are some of the best known releases on the label.
"One of the best and most consistent labels on the 'Deep Funk' scene. So many great and important releases!" Dj Snowboy.
"In a sorry musical world where weekly I subject my poor ears to the latest tawdry releases, it's always a treat to spot a 45 from Record Kicks. Not only something I might like, Something I know I will", Mark Lamarr (BBC 2 / MTV).
