Math and Science is the indie pop project of Los Angeles songwriter / drummer / knob-twiddler John Wolf. Working out of "The Dream Closet" - a 3'x6' microstudio / personal getaway near L.A.'s Miracle Mile, Wolf uses overachieving low-fi methods to continuously churn out the finest in simple, sweet, beguiling pop. Wolf reaches for everything from vintage synthesizers to ukulele to create song after song in his own inimitable timeless style, inspired and influenced by a range of musical composers and performers, including Tony Bennett, the Beatles, Dave Brubeck and Randy Newman.
When asked about the band's latest album, Tapping Into That Ecstatic Vein, Wolf says "It's Math and Science's 1970's rock album: Ten songs. Guitar, bass and drums. Great harmonies. The tom fills alone are worth the price of admission."
The Radio Shack addict has toured with The Apples in Stereo, and has also been seen across the country backing up various other artists, including Sony Music's P.J. Olsson (currently lead singer for The Alan Parsons Project) and Eenie Meenie Records' Blue-Eyed Son.
