This is what happens when a City supporter gets shut out from purchasing tickets to the Arsenal/West Ham match at Emirates Stadium. Sound and video don't exactly match because it was taken from a camera, but you will get the idea!
About me: It is with great joy and pride that I announce the end of our donation drive for youth and adult soccer (football) players in Sierra Leone, West Africa. The collection effort was a TREMENDOUS success due in great part to the hundreds of individuals across the globe who took the time to send in balls, cleats (boots), shorts, shirts and other equipment. In addition, over $600 was collected - money that will be used to pack all of the gear for shipment to Sierra Leone in boxes and crates.
Now, however, the most difficult task of all begins: arranging for the shipment of these materials to Africa. I simply cannot afford to write a check and make this happen and I do not wish to solicit further donations from all of you who have already been so generous. We need to work together at this crucial juncture to somehow find an airline or shipping company that will handle this request, or work with the embassy/consulate of Sierra Leone, or come up with another solution.
I ask all of you who have been associated with this effort to help me come up with ideas. I have, so far, sent letters to my US and State representatives and others with connections to Sierra Leone who might be able to assist us. Please email me with ideas and suggestions! Thanks for your amazing work, George.
P.S. Special thanks go out to the following people: Steve Nash of the Phoenix Suns (had Nike donate 50 pairs of shoes and 50 balls); Spaulding (based in Springfield, Massachusetts, sent 50 balls); Bill Sanders; Lynda in New Orleans; Christie and Richie; Hank Alexandre and Dedham Youth Soccer; WBZ News in Boston; The Brookline Tab Newspaper; Cory Kinsella of Pine Manor College; and to all of the folks who dropped off gear on my porch anonymously. Also, I would like to thank the Official Supporters Club of Manchester City FC and all of the branches of the Centenary Supporters Association for their continued involvement and support!

WBZ TV (CBS, Channel 4) in Boston ran a segment on our donation drive on the preview show for the Boston Pops on the 4th of July. Check out the video!
We are also not asking for money, but if you would like to make a small donation to help defray what will certainly be massive shipping costs, please do so by clicking on the PayPal button below.
