New Beat Society was formed in August of 2005 as a three piece group with Ben Soltau on bass, Justin LeDuc on drums, and Chris LoRang on saxophone. After picking up trumpet player Brett Messenger and vocalist Kathy Ruestow late in 2005, the band started getting strong recognition in Iowa City. NBS has most recently added its sixth member of the group, guitarist Nik Gruber.

Ever wondered what to do in the event of a nuclear threat?
A while ago I came across some stuff that inspired me to make this film:
Living Under the Shadow of the Nuclear Umbrella
