Born out of the need for experimentation PALYRRIA is a band that has devised and perfected its own, unique sound. Created in 1996 as a dance project it wasn't until 1999 that the band decided to turn into its own musical direction. A sound influenced by various styles of urban, as well as traditional music from Greece and the Aegean sea. They call it world-electro and indeed this music is neither electronic nor ethnic. PALYRRIA has always been fascinated by traditional and ritual music as some of the band's members have performed and recorded with renowned traditional musicians. Living in Greece and researching one's roots, one realizes that traditional music goes way beyond the last millennium, back in times when people chose to express themselves in much more ecstatic and paganistic ways. Traditional ceremonies have always been filled with music and musical expression. All of the above, plus the urban sound of today, have been the source of inspiration for the dynamic musical context of PALYRRIA. Musical scales used around the Mediterranean, pentatonic music, tribal grooves and instruments that come out of the depths of history are presented alongside pumping bass lines, hip hop breaks and drum n' bass grooves in an attempt to create music that transcends the centuries and is both ancient and futuristic at the same time. Let the strangeness ware off and enjoy music that comes straight from the source.

Τη Δευτέρα 9 Νοέμβρη και κάθε Δευτέρα η Ανδριάνα Μπάμπαλη με νεορομαντική διάθεση παίρνει τα τραγούδια του The Rose Tattoo και τα μεταφέρει live στο ιδανικό τους σκηνικό, στον ολοκαίνουριο πολυχώρο Pandou σου Ψυρρή . Τραγούδια και ατμόσφαιρα 60's στην καρδιά της Αθήνας του 2010 . Ένα πρόγραμμα στηριγμένο στο τελευταίο της album "The Rose Tattoo" . Μια σειρά σπουδαίων δημιουργών (Michel Mallory, Μίμης Πλέσσας, Κώστας Γιαννίδης, Jack Brooks, Harry Warren, Νίκος Γούναρης, Antonio Carlos Jobim, Χρήστος Χαιρόπουλος, Cole Porter, Αττίκ, Τάκης Μωράκης, Sergio Endrigo, Σπύρος Περιστέρης) και ανάλογων τραγουδιών ερμηνευμένα απο την Ανδριάνα Μπάμπαλη σε ενορχηστρώσεις του Μίνου Μάτσα . Και το πρόγραμμα δεν σταματάει εδώ. Απο τον Elvis μέχρι την Τζένη Καρέζη και τον Ντίνο Ηλιόπουλο, απο το Meglio Stasera μέχρι το "Ασ' το το χεράκι σου", μουσικές στιγμές απο τα 50's και τα 60's που λατρέψαμε ξαναζωντανεύουν αλλιώς, φοράνε τη ατμόσφαιρα της σημερινής Αθήνας και γίνονται επιχρωματισμένες μουσικές φωτογραφίες που θα παρουσιάζονται κάθε Δευτέρα στον νέο Πολυχώρο Pandou στου Ψυρρή . Βουτιά στα 50's και τα 60's μαζί με την Ανδριάνα Μπάμπαλη θα κάνουν : Άκης Κατσουπάκης - Ενορχήστρωση , πλήκτρα Μάρκος Παπασηφάκις - Κιθάρα , φωνή Γιάννης Οικονομίδης - Τρομπέτα , φλικόρνο , φωνή . Also, as a heads up, Cassini will be flying by the moon Enceladus next week, on Nov. 2, approaching within about 100 kilometers (62 miles) of the surface. The spacecraft has gone closer during a previous flyby (25 kilometers or 15 miles), but this time it will be going deep into the heart of the plume from the geysers on the tiger-striped moon. The objective is to analyze the particles in the plume with instruments that can detect the size, mass, charge, speed and composition. This will happen at about 7:40 a.m. UTC and the spacecraft will spend only about a minute in the plume.
