Exhuming cadavers from their graves, undead corpses rise through acts of necromancy...
RAISING THE DEAD - consisting of the duo; Asbestoss Greg Vorhees (Breed Of Dawn) and Postmortem Matt (In Obsidian, Devilution, A Dark Devotion) formed in 2004, with the idea to created a band with a different feel to that of other bands around them. The band began writting and recording demos of tracks which would later become TALES FROM THE CRYPT.
Instead of following current trends, Raising The Dead decided to stay true to themselves - no songs of heartbreak instead creating songs inspired by horror movies, personal horrors and coming to terms with the fact that there is a psychopath that lives inside all of us.
Determined not to be held back through the lack of a drummer RTD first took to the stage in mid '05, enlisting close personal friend of Skuld (from off-beat tech metal band In-Obsidian) on bass duties.
In Late '05 Twitch Abusement (ex-Evil Twin,ex-Cellar Door) was recruited on bass duties, and soon after the band started work on a new tune titled "Carving Kill In Pumpkins". The track is set to be featured on the compilation "Welcome to Creepsville", which is showcasing a large collection of horror-inspired bands from all over the world!
TALES FROM THE CRYPT is RTD's first independant release. Recorded in 2004-2005 @ RTD Studios, the album consists of 10 Un-dead tracks - including, FIEND, ALONE, XIII, and the un-nerving CAMP CADAVER.
RTD are now currently in the studio working on their second studio album "PUTTING THE FUN IN FUNERAL" which is set for release late 2006. Track titles include.......CORPSE MILITIA, CARVING KILL IN PUMPKINS and TRIGGER HAPPY.
It is hard to pin point which bands Raising The Dead could be likened to, at the end of the day their sound is truly unique.
In 2005 Raising The Dead branched out into recording bands in RTD studios, such fucking rad bands as Candy Pain, In-Obsidian,XBHBEX, Gunsmith Johnny, DIE BRITTNEY DIE and Signal The Firing Squad.
News just at hand A-dog has joined RTD as our resident bass-tard and we have a nutload of shows coming up soon~!
Stay tuned for updates bitches.....and remember...

"Looking like something out of a horror movie, Raising the dead crawl from the shadows with a sound that could easily carry a B grade horror movie through every bludgeoning scene as they power out the awesome sound of rock murder mayhem.
With influences like Chicken, Beer & Zombies anyone who has seen a horror movie with mates around a bucket of KFC can understand the feel of the music, which makes it easy for everyone to enjoy.
Although the sound is fairly raw in most parts with a little more work these guys are ready to take on the likes of such horror rockers as Rob Zombie or The Murderdolls."- Syk Radio
But none of this shit matters anymore we have fucken morphed into Deviltuion http://www.myspace.com/devilutiontheband

Hi! Just wanted to make sure all my friends know that my new erotic horror novel THE 13TH is now in stores everywhere! I hope you'll check out this debauched and demonic horror ride!
There's even a website devoted just to the book, with an interactive map of the places and characters at www.the13th-horror.com.
Edward Lee called THE 13TH "A double-barreled shotgun blast of macabre entertainment -- an expert amalgamation of grotesquerie, eroticism, mystery, and pitch-black occult horror that no fan of the genre can miss."
And Gary A. Braunbeck said, "John Everson's The 13th is the first out-and-out horror novel in a long while to actually scare the **** out of me while reading it. It's stylish, extremely well-written, filled with richly-drawn characterizations, and boasts a labyrinthine plot worthy of Umberto Eco. Trust me -- this one will fry your nerves and break your heart."
