   About Rhoda Dakar

Rhoda Dakar began her career with the 2 Tone movement, as lead vocalist with all-female band the Bodysnatchers. Their first single, Do Rocksteady, b/w Ruder Than You, written by Rhoda and Gaz Rockin Blues Mayall, took them into the charts and onto Top of the Pops. She went on to guest with the Specials, both live and on record. The Boiler, a tale of date rape, much played by John Peel, was recorded with a version of the Special AKA. A later incarnation recorded the In The Studio album, from which came the acclaimed single Free Nelson Mandela.

Rhoda and Nick (Welsh) originally worked out an acoustic set for the 3 Men + Black '25 years of 2 Tone' tour. Two years later, they are playing together regularly as an acoustic duo, or with Nick’s band, Skaville UK. Their live set is filled with great new songs and the best of the old, together with the sparkling humour that is such a feature of their stage partnership.

Rhoda's first solo album entitled, 'Cleaning In Another Woman's Kitchen', was released in November 2007. Her new album, together with Nick Welsh, 'Back To The Garage', influenced by The Stooges, The New York Dolls, The Pistols and The Pretenders, is a nod to the music that made 2Tone possible. Available now!

"...a collection of spirited, ... punchy and provocative garage rock." Gavin Martin, The Daily Mirror

I think I can survive the return of Michael Schumacher!  Just so relieved that young Felipe Massa is recovering so well.

Nice to hear from you.

I enjoyed some of Madstock, Rhoda, but it was partially ruined by loads of pick pockets.

Good to see you on stage for On The Town and Madness (can't remember Night Boat!).

On The Town's a cracking tune and would make a great single. I suppose if it was a hit they'd have to drag you all over the place for gigs! I don't know if you'd see that as a good or bad thing.
