About me: Roger Maunder was born and raised in St. John’s Newfoundland. In his filmmaking career, he works as a producer, writer, director, camera operator, set decorator and actor. He independently produced, wrote and directed his films, It Ain’t Funny, Suitcase Horror, The White Balloon, and the multi award-winning short drama, Swallowed, which appeared on CBC Television's 'Canadian Reflections' and on 'BRAVO!'
In 2001, upon recognizing the need for a venue for local filmmakers to screen their films, Maunder created the wildly successful Nickel Independent Film and Video Festival.
A versatile actor, he has appeared in the award-winning feature film, The Bingo Robbers, and the CBC national television series, Random Passage. He also has starred in short films such as the award-winning Colic and appeared in a variety of television series from the historical Legends and Lore of the North Atlantic to hilarious George Street TV.
Presently, Roger Maunder lives in downtown St. John’s, where he writes, makes films and enjoys being a mentor and instructor to aspiring filmmakers. He is still in the development stages of his first feature film, Mundy Pond, which turned out to be his first novel.
