I have lived quite the life so far, and I’m just getting started.
I was born and raised in a very small (and very close-minded) town in the southern parts of Missouri (Missour-uh… Misery) called Poplar Bluff. I guess you can say that I lived the stereotypical teenage flick about being the “loser” in school, but ultimately ended up becoming the one “on top” in the end.

I wasn’t super religious, I loved wearing all black, I was a fan of Marilyn Manson, I supported homosexuality/bisexuality, and in general, I just thought differently than the rest of the kids. All of these were big no-no’s when I was growing up. I suppose it didn’t help that I was one of the very few asians at the time. Actually, I might have been the only one. I wasn’t interested in doing the loitering-in-public-parking lots thing, or the underage drinking thing. So while I was being alienated for all of these things, I instead stayed at home and studied… but it wasn’t just school studies. While everyone else was out partying, I was focusing on teaching myself photography, Photoshop, and HTML.

I had one main goal: Get the hell out of dodge as soon as I graduated high school.

If you’ve been following me for years, you most likely know what happened to me at my high school graduation. Long, long story short, I didn’t get to walk my own graduation ceremony because I instead decided to stand up for my civil rights and personal beliefs after years of being discriminated against by the sad “Board of Education” that we had. I may not have gotten to walk, but ultimately I ended up paving the way for all of the underclassmen and that was good enough for me.

Then I went to college for a few years, where I spent more focus on photography and other types of art. Meanwhile, also utilizing all of my contacts and friends that I had already started building in the music industry at a young age. In 2004, I made the big move out to the City of Angels and like a firework, everything burst in so many different directions… but in a good way.

To spare you a super long resume: I used to model a bit, I’ve written a small piece in a worldwide-selling book, I used to work in graphic and layout design, I’ve toured on the road with bands as their merch girl, and now, aside from photography, I mostly work in social media, digital marketing, and creative.

I’ve worked with companies such as Warner Bros. Records, DigiSynd/Disney, Machinima, and theAudience. I’ve had work published in magazines such as Alternative Press and Rolling Stone. I’ve worked with all kinds of celebrities and musicians of all kinds of different calibers (You can find a little more about all of this on my LinkedIn profile if you’re really that interested).

Point is, I’ve done a lot of really cool things in my life… and I’m just getting started.

SO WHAT AM I DOING NOW? For the time being, I am currently remaining freelance, doing social media, digital marketing, and creative consulting for a variety of old and new clients– mostly a lot of Rhymesayers stuff.
