Railbird is an all-original psychedelic - roots group with eclectic, lyrically driven songs from Saratoga Springs, NY. The band is fronted by singer/songwriter Sarah Pedinotti who is described by Billboard Magazine as "a talented young singer/songwriter on the rise." In a recent review of "Railbird" Pedinotti’s songs are compared to that of Dylan, The Band and Tom Waits. Pedinotti is a storyteller, who finds inspiration in the fiction and poetry of writers such as George Orwell, Philip K. Dick, Walt Whitman, Allen Ginsberg, and W.B. Yeats. Railbird's debut disc was listed as 8 in Billboard's editors' picks for 2008, hailed as "a great indie band set to break out."
hey guys- sorry we never ended up meeting up in Boston the other night! For some reason I tend to black out conversations and plans to meet people. :( hope the show went well! see you soon!
Matthew Loiacono (kamikaze hearts) and I have been working with two very talented visual artists, Jason Antonelli and Ben Suhr, over the last couple of months. Ben and Jason have taken our songs/lyrics, and illustrated interpretations of them onto 3x5in "song cards". Matthew and I have left all artistic vision up to the artists, offering no input other than our music.
Now the REALLY neat part;
On June 20th, Ben, Jason, Matthew and I will be sharing our art with the good folks at the Bread and Jam Cafe. You (the audience member) will have the opportunity to determine our setlist for us. Matthew and I will be performing our songs round-robin style (one song apiece, alternately) as they are drawn randomly from song buckets, whichever song card you choose, we play it. As a bonus, you get to keep the song card you choose as a souvenir of the evening, so you win in two ways- you get an earful of original music and an eyeful of wonderful art.
Starts with an art opening from Suhr/Antonelli at 6:30 pm, music at 7:30. Hope you can make it!
Sarah - I want to see your band play sometime in a venue you are playing. Tess is really cool. I had so much fun tonight in the "Circus Cafe" I am still heading forward with my music as I decide what song to record up next in the studio. Hope all is well. Rock on!
Hope the Living Room show went great - looking forward to the Tulip Festival! I've been telling all these people about my favorite local band that I have never seen perform...No longer. Good luck!
