This is sargasso trio. The united sound of three songwriters; emily siddall, pete murdoch and ben winn. They first met in 2002, playing samba. From this they fell into writing acoustic synth-folk, latin lovesongs, odes to the road and ballads of the sea. On any given song they might play guitars, drums, keyboards, samples or saucepans, bottles or customised rhythm shoes. and they bind this all with a love of vocal harmony.
Pete Murdoch's approach to the guitar comes from a love of the independent, the unusual and dark. His songs are modern life, country lament and local myth rewritten. Emily Siddall's old four track demos were the spark that started the heart of the band; her songs are lustful and lonely, or like calypso come-ons with words sharp as voodoo pins. Ben Winn, originally a drummer, creates a kind of synthesised soul sung by the silent type; jaded and fragile or uncompromising and unusual. As a live band, they continue this multi-instrumental approach and through this bring these diverse styles together. Their debut album Burnin' Burnin' Burnin' is out now on Boyscout Recordings.

Hey how's the website going? I've fucked mine up somehow and now I can't get it back to how it was! I mean, how are we expected to be creative AND technical? It's too much to ask, surely! Your new profile colours look great, but I can't read a thing! All the blog entries and friends have disappeared. Don't know if it's my Mac settings though...
"The Hand are Bristol-based musicians Rachael Dadd & Wig Smith. Together they share a love of folk, blues and world music and play an exotic array of instruments including Kora, Banjo, Ukulele, and Harmonium. They are touring the UK with Japanese solo artist Ichi, who takes the notion of a one-man band to new limits – combining steel drum with ping-pong balls, tape-loops, trumpet and xylophone.
Support comes from Norwich-based musicians Sam James Hill and Tenderlion plus Buffet Style DJ's playing music from the psyche's deli..."

That's not fair! I thought he loved me! I've spent the whole blooming day sewing my wedding dress and everything! Men are bastards! I'm off to become a lesbian or a nun (or both...)
Hey, how's things with yooz lot? Not seen you in ages! Can't believe I missed two of your gigs too! How did they go? Are you going to Kellie's gig tomorrow? Rob and I are gonna try and make it! ;)
Hey no need to apologise, your friends really brought some life, that's what it's all about, rather that than all sitting round religously like an old folk club.
Was sorry to miss sunday, I forgot that I had to go to work, gutted!
