Cooking (Food Network rules!), computers, Texas Hold 'Em, books, and of course, writing.
My musical tastes are pretty eclectic - light classical, opera, jazz, rock, punk, alternative, grunge, funk, Latin, some hip-hop, some country. Jimmy Buffett's one of my faves.
I still think of Springsteen as The Boss, that "southern" rock died when Lynyrd Skynyrd's plane crashed, that Joe Walsh is the greatest rock guitarist that ever lived and Jim Morrison is alive and well somewhere in Africa.
Most types interest me - thrillers, sci-fi, comedy (romantic or otherwise). I have an aversion to slasher movies or anything else with gratuitous violence.
One of my favorite movies of all time is Groundhog Day, but the movie that made me laugh the hardest ever was Best In Show. In fact, I like just about every movie Bill Murray's ever made.
I read everything - from Dan Brown to Joe Finder to Clive Cussler in popular fiction and almost anything in the Western Canon. Biographies, history and "travel books" (a la Paul Theroux) in non-fiction.
The Autoimmune Epidemic by Donna Jackson Nakazawa is one book I highly recommend to anyone concerned about the frightening increase in autoimmune diseases sweeping the Western world.
Anyone who is able to spin a good enough yarn to capture the public's imagination. J.D. Salinger, Hunter S. Thompson, John Steinbeck all come to mind.
Completed one spec script (and nearly sold it); have two other completed works.
Have several articles published in tech magazines and ezines.
Five novels in various stages of completion. Recently published a short fiction / poetry anthology.

I'm a writer of several non-fiction articles published in print and online. My first collection of short stories and poetry, entitled "In The Foothills," was recently published by Foothills Villa Publishing.
In addition, I've written three screenplays and I'm currently writing my fourth. When I have time, I make progress on my first full-length novel.
The name "Michael C. Cordell" is a pseudonym.
May 2009 update! Response to In The Foothills has exceeded my expectations. Meanwhile, work progresses on my first suspense novel. Stay tuned for more on my next publication ...

As Graham Joyce says in his foreword to ISLINGTON CROCODILES, ‘This is the edge.’

“SACRIFICE is not for the timid or weak of heart, it is a full frontal assault on your senses. It is a dark, brutal, bloody and terribly frightening book. Everson went deep into some dark abyss to bring this book to the light of day.... I highly recommend Sacrifice.”
—Famous Monsters of Filmland
“John Everson manages in SACRIFICE to dispense buckets of blood, provide edgy perversity, and walk the tenuous tightrope of horror and sex without falling: It’s rather an amazing feat.” –Hell Notes

All Three to True
14 July 2006
Hope, faith and charity, or all three
those things in life, important to me
Words of joy, words of love
these words to openly live by
Tears in an eye
all lost in ways of faith
For would there be a tomorrow
this way of reaching out to her grace
Apples on a tree, love upon the wind
this hope carried upon a wishing star
Could it, would it, will that ring true
to whisper into her ear, “I love you”
Roses are red, but some are yellow as well
this harbour of amour and places to view
Who said it might never happen
never to be married, or openly
say “love was true”
“And now abideth faith, hope, charity,
these three; but the greatest of these is charity.”
1 Corinthians 13: 13 KJV
There are many occasions when a rose is an appropriate gift, the colour of the rose being the deciding factor in whether or not the rose is suitable for the occasion.
Red roses symbolize eternal love, respect, and passion. Red roses are considered to be the perfect way to say “I love You”, White roses are often found at weddings (innocence, purity) and funerals (reverence). Yellow roses send messages of celebration, joy, hope, and freedom.
Pink roses are associated with friendship and marriage. Soft, cheerful and happy, pink roses denote admiration, gentleness and sweetness. A posy of pink roses says “Thank You”, “You’re So Kind” and “I Love You” in a way that can be considered either romantic or friendly.
