My names laura, i'm a 17 year old singer songwriter from carlisle, i love music its just about the most amazing thing that has ever been. my dad especially influenced me into music as he has been playing the guitar since he was 15 too. I write my songs about my experiences, about however i feel. I know exactly where i want to be in my life and although it may be a long shot I'm excited about the future.
Music is exactly where i fit in and i couldnt feel much more comfortable than when im playing my music to an audience. I'ts what feels right to me. And it makes me so happy.
I wrote my first song at the beginning of secondary school, when i was about 12/13, i called it can you walk me home. its probably one of my favourites. i just hope there's alot more like it to come. in fact i'm sure there will be!
i hope you enjoy listening to my music.

* Best Gig (Cumbrio/Kendal Calling @ Carlisle - May 09)
The poll opens on Friday 20th November 2009 and will close on Friday 18th December 2009.
I just wanted to say that I saw you play at the drystone stage at solfest on sunday and omg, your voice just blew me away. It sounds kinda cheesy I know, but seriously, your voice gave me goose pimples! You have a beautiful voice and I reli hope you go far in what you do.
When I have money, I will definitely buying some of your songs on itunes :)
it is elton (the one with the funny little guitar backstage). thanks for the lovely music. it made the rain less wet. i don't think i have heard anyone tackle a joni mitchell song with such passion and skill. my friend was in awe of you.
best wishes and i hope you get everything you want this year. if you have any pictures of the festival post them up or send a link. thank you again.
Hullo, saw you play last night at the Source Cafe and had to say your cover of Iron & Wine was great, as was the rest of the set. Some promising stuff there good luck with it all. Also I run the open mic nights at the Circle Bar these days, will keep you informed of when the next one is, would be great if you could come along and play a few :)
Laura! I was just sitting around when I suddenly remembered one of your old songs. I forgot what it was called exactly but I remember the line, "I remember everything, all the hurt, all the pain."
I can't find it anywhere. And the fact that I don't remember the title doesn't really help.
Mmm, would it be too much to ask for help? Where can I listen to it?
