Sugary sweet as their name suggests, Sourpatch channels the twee Northwest sound of Velocity Girl, Tiger Trap, or any number of girl-fronted bubblegum-punk groups on the roster of Spin Art or Slumberland in the '90s.
Formed in San Jose in late 2008, Nicole Munoz, Christine Tupou, Mandi Farrell, and Rich Gutierrez played two short tours, self-released a seven-song demo, and released a free single on Where It’s At Is Where You Are (WIAIWYA) by the end of 2009. In 2010, the band announced that they would be releasing their debut album, Crushin’, on Athens, GA's Happy Happy Birthday to Me Records. ~ Jason Lymangrover
