Hey, I finally broke down and bought an iPod. And I love it! But it hasn't changed the fact that I mostly listen to Middle Eastern tunes day and night - both for enjoyment and as a means to find songs for dance class or performance. I am now currently Level III certified in the Suhaila Salimpour format! I travel to California to study with Suhaila as much as possible. I also dance with a wonderful group of women in Austin: Sabaya Bellydance Collective. Contains Middle Eastern, Indian, East Asian influences with Hip Hop, Techno, Drum n Bass and Reggae beats (and some more traditional as well) If you are looking for new music to spice up your performances, this is stuff guaranteed to make you shake and shimmy =)
This is music for dancer by a dancer. If I didn't find it danceable myself, I didn't put it on my CD =)
