Music and photography are my main interests. I have an uncontrollable curiosity about many other things, especially with regards to artistic expression.
Music
Progressive rock, especially of the avant-garde variety, is my favorite, but as a result of music to which I've been introduced at the prog fests I have developed an affinity to all things progressive. All music is fair game, though. Singer/songwriters, alternative, electronic, etc. almost all genres and sub-genres have a place on my shelves. I always loved modern jazz and modern "classical" music, too.
Movies
Cathi and I mostly like comedys and science fiction. We have been enjoying going to the Ritz Theaters in Philadelphia on Wednesdays when showings are $6 all day. We've been known to even see two in one day.
Television
Science fiction and comedy. Documentaries on archeology, nature, science, superstition, and other subjects. TV is a good place for movies I haven't yet seen, too.
Books
"Serious" fiction (in alphabetical order): Kobo Abe, John Barth, Donald Barthelme, Samuel Beckett, Saul Bellow, Jorge Luis Borges, Anthony Burgess, William S. Burroughs, Julio Cortazar, Don Delillo, Carlos Fuentes, William Gaddis, James Joyce, Jack Kerouac, Stanislaw Lem, Vladimir Nabokov, V.S. Naipaul, Thomas Pynchon, and others to be named later.

Who I'd like to meet: Independent minded people who are able be tolerant and respectful to those with different points of view. We don't have to agree about anything beyond the fact that we don't have to agree to be respected. Being able to laugh a lot helps, too.
