25 years ago five suburban kids stumbled on a murder in their sleepy hometown and led police to the killer. Two years later, "The Cassidy Kids Mysteries," a Saturday morning TV show based on their story, made its premiere. A terrifying real-life story became a brightly-lit colorful world of adventure. A bloodless kidnapping replaced the murder. The kids' personalities were reduced to ridiculous stereotypes. And the show was a huge hit. It ran for four years and spawned lunch boxes, a line of children's underwear and a set of action figures still in demand today.
Now, in preparation for the show's DVD release, a documentary team has invited all five of the "real" Cassidy Kids back home to talk about how it all began. But as this reunion unfolds, the mystery they thought they solved begins to unravel.
The Cassidy Kids had its World Premiere on March, 12, 2006 at the SXSW Film Festival.

Friday morning Sept 4, on Turner Classic Movies, Bonita
will appear in two classic films. The first, starting at 7am Eastern is
the very rare gem HITLER'S CHILDREN from 1943.
This propaganda
piece starts in 1933. Prof. Nichols' American school in Berlin is next
door to a school for the Hitler Youth. Karl, from the latter, is
attracted to German-American Anna, but events lead to their separation.
Later, at the outbreak of war in Europe, Anna is removed from Nichols'
school on presumption of German citizenship. Nichols becomes obsessed
with finding her, as Anna undergoes a rather lurid odyssey through the
Nazi nightmare. This movie is very rare and has not yet been released
on home video.
Next at 10 am (Eastern) we have SEVEN MILES FROM
ALCATRAZ made in 1942. After Pearl Harbor, convicts at Alcatraz prison
live in fear of bomb attacks, driving Champ Larkin and his pal Jimbo to
a desperate escape attempt which lands them on a tiny lighthouse
island, where they take over. The five inhabitants are stymied in their
efforts to summon aid. But the island also figures in the schemes of a
big Nazi spy ring; which will win out, the gangsters' greed or their
patriotism? Bonita stars as Anne Porter in this rarely shown film. It
too has yet to be released on home video.
Please check your local listings and set your DVRs or video recorders NOW to capture these two great films.

I just noticed on the IFC/B-Sides website and confirmed with my cable box that The Cassidy Kids will be on the IFC channel this Sunday, April 6, 12:00p ET/ 11:00am CT... not sure for West coast. It will also play on 4/10 at 12:05p/11:05a and 4/14 at 10:05am/9:05am. So excited to see it again! :)
The Cassidy Kids will go to the Independent Film Channel as part of the Choice Indies joint program of IFC and B-Side Entertainment. B-Side will promote the Burnt Orange Productions film through video-on-demand and DVD sales. As we told you recently, the film from Jacob Vaughan and Bryan Poyser isn't likely to see a theatrical release.
