Two Paths crossed one May evening as Jason Call (Former Bassist of Internet child star Daphne Loves Derby), loaded gear up several flights of stairs to the small club in St. Louis. Another State, another show, and another new start. Guitarist Steven Biringer (Transition) rested after a long drive. Perhaps tired from the long hours at the Wheel, or exhausted of the uncertainty that had been looming for much too long. The two brothers had no idea what was waiting them on stage that night, nor what was to follow shortly after.
Days after High School graduation the boys of Daphne Loves Derby jumped in a tour van and set off on what would be years of recording and touring. Bassist Jason Call had spent much time working on band demos and schooling. Along with High School, Call had also managed to graduate from a local College with his Associates Degree. After much label attention Daphne was signed by the Denver Broncos very own Trevor Price..s Outlook Records. Over the years the boys would span the globe touring all over the United States and even arriving to Japan.
Transition had spent the summer following the Warped Tour and selling albums to every kid with a pair of headphones. For such fruits, they attracted the attention of MXPX lead Singer Mike Herrera and Floodgate records. Herrera agreed to produce there sophomore album Get There. The Album sold in stores world-wide and created a buzz from kids around the country, now with their headphones in ear, listening to the Get There, the product of hard work, experience, and the production of MXPX front man Mike Herrera.
After much touring and hard work both Call and Beringer arrived at the same brick club in Missouri. Both approaching from different directions on the highway, and backgrounds completely distinct. No one knew of the change that would take place that very same night. Call had made plans to leave Daphne Loves Derby and serve a mission for his Church (The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints) after much discussion and meditation. Steve also came to the same conclusion. Before leaving the two spent weeks together in the simple city of Rexburg Idaho, writing, recording and making plans. Both being extremely blessed, decided to leave all behind and learn what it was to give. Call left to serve in Peru, and Steve in California. After two years of service and extreme growth, the two will return to make music.
Listeners can expect a mix between the bands predecessors (Daphne Loves Derby, and Transition). But also a mix of heart, harmony, nostalgia, and just plain great summer soundtrack music.
