And amongst many, many, many other things both common and arcane, our cats: Leona Trotsky, Mrs Higgenbottom aka Higgi, and Mitzi Gaynor. | | Music | We have widely varying tastes, but ONE of us is obsessed with Art Pepper. The other is only obsessed with Nick Cave, John Doe and Ella Fitzgerald. We collect vinyl and play it in our store. Mostly west coast cool jazz and hard bop, but also space age pop and tons (and I mean tons) of thrift store finds that the same one who is obsessed with Art Pepper spends a great deal of time shopping for. | | Movies | A zillion. And we're on a mission to own DVD copies of all movies filmed in San Francisco and to TIVO the TCM broadcasts of those that aren't.
Anyone want to go on our custom "Dark Passage" tour? | | Television | The Sopranos, The L Word, Bill Maher, The Daily Show, The Colbert Report, South Park, superhero shows, Food TV, Project Runway, Turner Classic Movies, the Independent Film Channel, Sabado Gigante (baila, baila, baila!). | | Books | Does the Sunday New York Times count as a book? Because it takes us a week to get through it. No mental space to read long fiction currently, but we both love books (too many to even begin to list; Emmett worked in the rare books biz for a long time) and share a love of Henry Miller and Deanna is a certifiable Faulkner fanatic. | | Heroes | Jean-Paul Sartre, Simone de Beauvoir, Henry Miller, Bill Clinton, Superman, Batman. |
