Who are The Tacticians? The Tacticians have been known to refer to themselves as an Urban Folk band singing about about dangerous liaisons, temptation, failure, heartbreak and love in the big city. They love to tell tales and aren't afraid to sometimes try and make you smile.
The Tacticians songs are all written by brothers Joe Jr. and Ollie, who form the core of the band. The brothers have a soft spot for 3 minute pop songs; they aim to create music that incorporates elements of their outsized record collection - old soul, ska, country, 60s pop........ Tacticians tracks are characterised by economic drumming, soulful guitar riffs, sweet touches of organ, glockenspiel and harmony vocals.
People have made comparisons to The Kinks mainly due to their tongue in cheek moments and the brother situation. They're not going to argue with that. That said, dont get confused and think retro, The Tacticians are London 2007.
The band have been busy making a name for themselves on the London gig circuit, playing well known venues both as a full band and as an acoustic duo. Out of London they've played events like the Secret Garden Party, The International Pop Overthrow Festival and Break in The City.
The Tacticians have been inspired by the reams of wonderful comments and feedback from myspacers worldwide who have helped them gain commercial radio play and win a poll on BBC 6Music. The tracks, "London's Alright", "Girls Grow Up Faster Than Boys" and "Respectfully Proceeding" are gaining radio play from Birmingham to Berlin to Los Angeles

"Honey You Ain't Needed Anymore" is like a rock anthem for the new age! Somewhere, I think Joe Strummer is looking down upon you and smiling...these are just wonderfully rousing, irreverent, dance-worthy tunes reminiscent of The Clash! Can you tell I am excited??? :)
Nearly fell off the sofa in the middle of Gossip Girl (oh at least I admit it) when your movie commercial came on. I thought my mind was playing tricks and I was humming your song in my head, til I realized that the music was coming from the TV. Now don't go getting all Hollywood on us, but cheers from Yank-land!
I finally got the CD here on itunes in Canada. It's wicked guys... Hey, you should consider getting your songs on guitar hero or rockband? Great material though.. loving it.
