The Toy Guns were a four-piece band based in Londons east end whose music sounded like The Kinks being repeatedly kicked by various members of The Clash and The Specials.
The boys released a single through EMI Parlophone backed Regal Recordings as part of their limited edition singles club. The double A-side of 'Nice One Jerry' and 'Shoot The Boy' came out on 7" and iTunes download on sept 3rd. 2008 brought the release of their Japanese mini album 'Benefit Fraud' on Vinyl Junkies Recordings. And the single 'Transmission'.
2007 saw the TG's gunning across the airwaves grabbing Zane Lowe's 'Fresh Meat' title on Radio One, getting a nod of approval and spins galore from BBC 6 Music's Steve Lamacq, Xfm's Steve Harris and Virgin Radio Xtreme. In 2008 the lads completed sessions on XFM and BBC6:
Tales of scuffles with the boys in blue, birds you never see again and scrapes with the Spanish Authorities combined with a driving rhythm section interchanging with melodic lead and tight vocals made The Toy Guns a live band not to be missed.
A few years back an Italian and a Finn got dragged kicking and screaming into the back of a van by two Geordies and were forced to learn how to play guitar and drums or else face the next 12 years listening to Shed Sevens greatest hits. They have never been seen without their instruments since.
On Tour - the band have joined Dirty Pretty Things, Babyshambles and The Special’s Jerry Dammers in support of Love Music Hate Racism and participated in nationwide Uni Tour's in support of the organisation. They also lent their support to Roger Daltrey's charity - The Teenage Cancer Trust and played a massive gig at 'The Sage' in Newcastle. The lads have also completed a short tour of Japan taking in venues in Tokyo, Kobe and Osaka in support of their mini album.
