   About Tim Hudspith
Tim started writing songs in his home town of Adelaide a few months after picking up his first guitar in late 1985. Within a year he co-founded an original, melodic, garage band called Death Valley P.T.A. Tim played in three more short-lived guitar bands (Electric Sunshine, The Scribes and The Watershed) before co-founding Colourwheel, his first semi-professional group. The band went on to play 123 gigs, including The Big Day Out and supports for Ed Kuepper and The Stone Roses. In 1994, Colourwheel released their debut CD Junkyard to critical acclaim, extensive local airplay and national airplay on Triple J. Tim was nominated for Songwriter of the Year in the South Australian Music Industry Awards for the songs he contributed to Junkyard. In 1997, the band released their second self-financed CD 4 Speed Overdrive. Once again Colourwheel enjoyed great reviews and extensive airplay. Colourwheel disbanded in late 1997. A year later Tim formed a new band called Goldentone. Over the next few years Goldentone performed constantly in Adelaide and began venturing over to Melbourne on an increasingly regular basis. Live performance highlights included supports for legendary Australian acts like Ed Kuepper, The Go-Betweens and The Church and appearances at events like the Harvest Festival in Melbourne and Adelaide. Goldentone released seven disks in the form of two limited edition trilogies and a 24-track double album. The Sunset Trilogy received rave reviews and introduced Goldentone to local radio. It consisted of Demo CD number one, Demo CD number two and Demo CD number three. The Landscape Trilogy also enjoyed critical acclaim and enabled Goldentone to break into radio networks interstate and overseas. It consisted of Live to Air, Live on Radio and Live at UV. In 2002 Tim moved interstate and established an independent record label called Dead Letter Records (Australia). In 2003 his label released a 24-track double album by Goldentone titled Honey Coloured Sky and the Blood Red Earth. The CD featured the best tracks from the Sunset and Landscape Trilogies, together with new material. In late 2005 Tim released the second offering from Dead Letter Records - a six-track CD called The Long Low Road. This was followed in early 2006 by Subsonic Afterglow, which featured six tracks from Colourwheel recorded way back in 1994. Tim has played around 300 shows, ranging from small front bar gigs to supports for international touring acts in major venues. He has written over 100 songs and released eleven self-financed CDs. Tim is currently based in Victoria where he continues to write prodigiously and perform both as a solo act and with his band Goldentone. I didn't realise you lived in the area... (duh!)
I've made it a free entry gig,

It'll be good to catch up,
I haven't seen your face for yonks.

Unfortunately, I'll still be on the road for your Wheaty show in September...

Cheers,

G.
