I like muscle cars, motorcycles, computer games, poker, dogs, movies, books, history, Shakespeare, cooking, wine, poetry, writing, knitting and theatre. I pretty much adore my friends and family and mostly just like to live life and have fun. I enjoy meandering conversations about everything. I love to travel. Seriously, there are tons of places I would love to visit. I have been to France, Monaco, Hawaii, England, Canada, and various places across the western US. Next on my list of places to visit are Scotland, Italy, and New York. I saw the inside of JFK airport once but I think there may be more interesting things to see there. :)
Music
I like tons of varied music. Billie Holliday, Green Day, Billy Joel, The Mamas and the Papas, Aerosmith, AC/DC, Rob Thomas, Alanis Morrisette, Van Morrison, Guns and Roses, The Temptations, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Sheryl Crow, Pink, Santana, Avril Lavigne, a little Pink Floyd, The Who, Big Band Music, Squirrel Nut Zippers, Reel Big Fish, Bobby Darin, Johnny Cash, Sugar Ray, Eminem, and tons more.
Movies
I love movies. I love to laugh. I like Shakespeare plays made into movies but I also like an action movie or a cheesy B movie. I spent a couple years in college working for a video store, I have seen a LOT of movies. Some of my favorites are PCU, Big Trouble in Little China, Indiana Jones, Ten Things I Hate About You, Star Wars (the originals), Serenity, Lethal Weapon, Much ado about nothing (Emma Thompson) and the list goes on. I have a special place in my heart for Army of Darkness but you will have to ask if you want to know.
The Princess Bride is an all time favorite and has been for a long time.
Recently, I have fallen in love with Love Actually. Quirky little British film. :)
Television
I like the CSI's. I enjoy a good mystery/suspense plus the sense of team on all the shows is a refreshing change from some of the other ensemble shows. I admit that I am also hooked on Gilmore Girls. You can laugh but it is truly one of the few intelligently written shows where the characters are important and carefully crafted to remain true and thus believable.
Books
Right now I am reading a vampire/werewolf series that's really a lot of fun. The author is Laurell K. Hamilton. The author has written a strong female lead who isn't a bitter, shrewish, man-hater. It's kind of refreshing. Warning, there is a LOT of sex and violence in these books. Not that it's bad just that I like to know these things before I start reading a series. While I am finishing this series I just picked up Pride and Prejudice. I went to the movie recently and it has inspired me to go back and reread some of Jane Austen's novels.
Eternally in search of purpose and insight.
You're curious and creative with a total sense of wonder.
Totally empathetic, you pick up on other's moods easily.
Just be sure to pamper yourself as well!
Who I'd like to meet: People with an interest in ideas and conversation. I want to meet people who like to hear opposing viewpoints and talk about them not judging them or absorbing them without thought. People who like to bring their own thoughts and ideas into a conversation not to change someones mind but to grow and add to the discussion.
what is it with you kids today and your new fangled gadgetry and your intronet? why, back in my day we would just walk to the town meetin' stick if we wanted to git to socimilizen or if we just wanted to tap some ass.
