'Walter Ego, a three piece band with guitar and rhythm section. They played a range of covers from Chicago Blues to the White Stripes, and the really endeared themselves to us with an excellent version of Tom Waits' Raindogs'.
Walter Ego are blues, rock, indie, indefinable band based in the Isle of Man. We play whatever music we feel like and a little of our own. Walter Ego first performed at the Iron Pier in early 1998 and have played regularly at most venues on the Isle of Man since, including every Big Wheel Blues Festival since it started in 1999. John now helps to orgainise this great event in May of each year. Past members of the band over the last nine years include the wonderful Derek Baldwin, the lovely Nic and Pris Bradburn, the perfect Graham Porter, the one and only, truely original Steve Courtie and the fantabulous Martin Jones. The band is now a three piece with John Barker (guitars and vocals), Jim Houghton (drums and vocals) and Johnny G (bass).
Just like to say, some of my musical highlights in recent years were performing on the Queens stage with The Cahonies(sadly I had to leave a couple of years ago)at the Laxey Blues Festival Which I know you were heavily organised in.
Good to see you are still performing. best wishes for the future Kev
