Sounds Like

"Like The Cure all swirled up with Billie Holiday, and the voice of an angel dipped in gin. "TOMORROW BLUES" is an illicit affair, a stroll through dark Manhattan and a cigarette in the rain." - SERGE BIELANKO (MARAH)

""TOMORROW BLUES" is a great New York City record. It's beautiful and scary, joyous and sad. CHRISTINE SMITH is also perhaps the most natural, effortless musician I've ever known." - DAVE BIELANKO (MARAH)

"Listen to the fire-escape romance of “The Car Alarm Choir Lullaby”, the nocturnal reflections of “Age Of Indifference”, or the compressed melodrama of “Down The Street”, and you can’t help but think they don’t write ‘em like this anymore." - Paul Cantin (NO DEPRESSION)

"F***ing brilliant!" - TOMMY STINSON (REPLACEMENTS)

"Real life heartbreaking confessions with 5am swagger and sweet haunting melodies." - JESSE MALIN

"Velvet ropes and fine wine...CHRISTINE SMITH gives us "TOMORROW BLUES", jangled tunes that soar and swoon. Black light cabaret from the other side of life. Midnight never sounded so good." - Starr Tucker (NY WASTE)

"Thoroughly surprising and unconventional, "TOMORROW BLUES" is a triumph of a debut record." - Anthony D'Amato (UPSTAGE MAGAZINE)

"This could be the breakout disc of the year..." - (VILLAGERECORDS.COM)

"Part chanteuse, part honky tonk, and all heart...Smith's introspective songs are at once sad and funny; her melodies twist and turn like acrobats, proving irresistible." - Lisa Ianucci (ENCORE MAGAZINE)

""Tomorrow Blues" is a genuine diamond in the rough and I really like it an awful lot." **** - Brett Hickman (STATIC MULTIMEDIA)

"The music of Smith are, however, substantial differently than what you expect now. It has, however, attitude but no muscle balls. That is not also the intention. [She is] the striking little girl with the old instruments." - Patrick Donders (HANX.NET MAGAZINE)

   About Christine Smith

Christine Smith is a singer/songwriter who has written, recorded and toured worldwide as a piano player and backing vocalist with many exceptional artists. She is perhaps best known for her work with Marah (2005 to the present), Jesse Malin, Ryan Adams and Crash Test Dummies.

Throughout her endeavors, Christine has also had the pleasure of performing on stage with Bruce Springsteen, Shane McGowan, H.R. (Bad Brains), Butch Walker, Moby, Amy Grant, Badly Drawn Boy, Nick Hornby, Pete Yorn, Wayne Kramer (MC5), and many others.

Originally from Queens, NY, Christine is a classically trained pianist who was raised on Rock & Roll and a healthy dose of jazz standards and show tunes. Her Goth/New Romantic/Post Punk teenage years led her to move to London, England, where she spent over a decade developing her own music, gigging as a jazz pianist and working as a musical director, performer and writer in comedy theater and radio.

In November 2006 she released her solo debut album "Tomorrow Blues" (Phidelity Records). Christine produced, wrote and performed all the songs herself as a one woman band. Recorded in just 8 days, the album includes special guest appearances by Jesse Malin, David Bielanko (Marah) and Kirk Henderson (ex-Marah).

Christine now resides in the beautiful countryside of Central Pennsylvania where she can enjoy nature and the quiet life whenever she's not touring. She is currently working with David Bielanko on the next full length Marah record, which will be released in the new year.

Meanwhile, here's a new single from MARAH (written by David Bielanko & Christine Smith) called "Put 'em in the Graveyard"

TOMORROW BLUES

"Listen to the fire-escape romance of 'The Car Alarm Choir Lullaby,' the nocturnal reflections of 'Age of Indifference' or the compressed melodrama of 'Down The Street,' and you can’t help but think they don’t write ‘em like this anymore." - NO DEPRESSION
