Retroactive is a band that is exploring just about everything. Norris Mealer performs covers and originals ranging from bluegrass to smooth jazz and everything in between. Occasionally accompanied by Joe "Six Pack" Painter, of the now defunct Keith Whitley band, Susy Murphy, local favorite who appears at Anthony's, Scully's and Tisa's, Ron "Jake Blues" Lopez on bass and vocals, and other assorted musicians. Performing with his trusty laptop loaded with tracks and his Line6 Variax 700 hardtail and the Pod XT live floorboard he is able to capture the nuances of everything from Clapton's "Tears in Heaven" to Steppenwolf's "Born to be Wild". 40 years of experience and it shows.
