X-Men: The Last Stand
Grade: B+

Still confused by some of the changes in the storylines, I still found myself liking these movies. The different characters all offer something special (except the cure kid).

Characters
Like I mentioned, I enjoyed the characters. Lots of effects and money went into making Jean Grey look powerful, and she (along with her character) didn’t disappoint. She throws a good twist into the movie, yet I didn’t agree with the ending too much.
The hairy guy is cool, but it seems as though his gimmick is way past time. Halle Berry playing Storm (the weather girl) is still right on, and one of the coolest scenes has to be her entering Alcatraz.

Storyline
The government has developed a cure for mutants, and wants to put it into effect. Just like you’d expect, this doesn’t go well with everyone, and we get the US government stuck in the middle of the forthcoming war. The mutants divide into two different groups, with each still having the same goal.
One side of the mutants is headed by traitor, a mutant who used to be on the side of the professor, Xavier. He leads a muscleman, a lil’ Kim look-alike, a P!nk look-a-like, Jean herself, and about 1,000 “pawns” (as he refers to them).
The other side of the mutants is our hero’s: Logan (the wolverine), Storm, the hairy guy, Jean (for a bit), two ridiculous kids who shouldn’t be there, and a strong, multiplying man who has super strength. These real X-Men are the protagonists of the film.

Setting
X-3 takes place in San Francisco; mainly the prison Alcatraz, which has been overrun by the man who made the cure. The town looked as real as it did when I visited it two years ago. Of course, the film also moves around, with nice effects and good charm.
